The Hero Within

River City Bangkok proudly presents “The Hero Within,” the third solo exhibition by Vichuda Khantijit, an artist renowned for expressing the fragility of the human spirit through powerful surreal imagery. Her works resemble poetic narratives that resonate deeply with viewers, inviting them on an introspective journey into the artist’s inner world.

In this exhibition, Vichuda presents a series of paintings that function as visual poetry—offering profound insights into life’s uncertainties, vulnerabilities, and challenges, while also conveying an enduring sense of hope. Through dreamlike landscapes that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination, she incorporates her signature symbols, such as paper boats and dogs, as a visual language to communicate emotions that are often beyond words.

Vichuda believes that in moments when clouds descend and the sky is overshadowed by darkness—whether we shed tears of joy or sorrow—there is always one constant: a courageous hero who never abandons us, no matter how difficult the path ahead may be. And that hero… is ourselves.

“The Hero Within” is open to the public free of charge from March 28 to May 24, 2026, at RCB Photographers’ Gallery, 2nd Floor, River City Bangkok.
