Khao Tok Garland Festival Yasothon 2026
The Khao Tok Garland Procession Festival Yasothon 2026 is a unique cultural and religious tradition in Northeastern Thailand that reflects strong Buddhist faith and local wisdom. The festival features handcrafted garlands made from roasted rice grains that bloom into small white flowers, carefully threaded together one grain at a time to create long, elegant garlands.
The garlands are paraded and offered as a sacred Buddhist tribute during the Magha Puja period. This tradition is considered one of the rarest cultural practices in the world and has been preserved by the Yasothon community for generations.
The festival also supports cultural tourism, strengthens community identity, and promotes local heritage on both national and international levels.
