A Journey Without a Map
River City Bangkok warmly invites you into “A Journey Without a Map”, a group exhibition inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, the beloved classic by L. Frank Baum. It is the tale of Dorothy, an ordinary girl, swept away by a sudden cyclone from everything she knows into the strange and shimmering land of Oz. Her journey does not begin with a wish—but with a surprise. Much like our own lives, where, without warning, we are carried off course… and into the unknown.
Along the Yellow Brick Road, Dorothy meets a Scarecrow longing to think, a Tin Man yearning to feel, and a Lion searching for courage. Together, they follow a promise toward the great and powerful Wizard. Yet along a path tangled with fear, doubt, and quiet wonder, they begin to uncover a gentle truth: that what they have been searching for may not be waiting at the end of the road—but has been quietly growing within them all along.
This exhibition invites visitors to step into Dorothy’s shoes — swept away by a cyclone from the familiar, and into a journey untethered by certainty. What unfolds is a world shaped by the imagination and singular perspectives of ten artists, each offering their own interpretation of “losing one’s way” — whether through wandering the external world, or navigating the uncharted terrain within.
In a world that urges us to have answers, to define our purpose, and to move steadily toward what is deemed “right”. This exhibition offers something softer—an invitation to pause, to lose your way, to stumble, to wonder, to ask without apology. Because sometimes, it is only when we step beyond the edges of the map that we begin to see ourselves—not as who we were meant to be, but as who we truly are.
The ten artists featured in this exhibition are ANO., Bakumbaa, give.me.museums, Keng Jeans, Little Theater, meltboy, Pi-near, RomanticRaiPoet, Tangent, and Thani.
“A Journey Without a Map” is open to the public free of charge from 23 April - 31 May 2026 at RCB Galleria 1, 2nd floor of River City Bangkok.
