Yuyuan Lantern Festival 2025
Yuyuan Lantern Festival 2025
June 27 - August 15, 2025
At River Park, ICONSIAM
One of China's iconic landmarks is finally coming to Thailand in a spectacular fashion with the grand Yuyuan Garden Lantern Festival. Under the collaboration of ICONSIAM, Shanghai Yuyuan Tourist Mart, and Intersteps, every detail will be brought to life through intricate lantern art, light and shadow techniques, and interactive "Immersive Art" to magnificently celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and China.
The Yuyuan Lantern Festival 2025 at ICONSIAM is based on the concept of "Spirit of Mountains and Seas," drawing inspiration from the ancient text "Shan Hai Jing" or "The Classic of Mountains and Seas." As this lantern festival in Thailand marks the historic 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic relations, the lanterns will illuminate the Chao Phraya River for a continuous 50 days, reflecting the light of friendship between the two nations. It aims to bridge the feelings of people from both countries, strengthening the close relationship embodied by the concept of "China and Thailand are one family."
Another key highlight is the design of the event space, which will reflect Eastern culture and way of life. The main theme is an "island," transforming the area into a magical land along the Chao Phraya River, appearing like a floating island adorned with dazzling lights and colors. Each cluster of lanterns will represent a mysterious island scattered throughout the "Island of Chao Phraya," waiting for visitors to explore and discover each spot in a truly magical atmosphere.
This collaboration reflects ICONSIAM's steadfast commitment to the "Global Experiential Destination" concept, aiming to create world-class events that offer new and memorable experiences, connecting people from all over the world. This is another significant step that truly reinforces ICONSIAM's role as a global destination for experiences.
June 27-28, 2025 will be an exclusive preview for invited guests. The festival will open to the general public starting June 29, 2025.
