The Coup Years: Life and Time Under the Shadow of a Coup

The Coup Years: Life and Time Under the Shadow of a Coup is a photo and art exhibition organized by SEA Junction to mark the fifth anniversary of Myanmar’s military coup. The exhibition reflects the long journey toward democratic restoration and the resilience of the people.

Featuring photographs and artworks by Myanmar photographers and artists, the exhibition documents everyday life under the coup that began on 1 February 2021 and continues today. An interactive installation of projected butterflies symbolizes lives lost in the struggle for democracy, inviting reflection, remembrance, and dialogue.
